Privacy Policy — UtsavPlaces

UtsavPlaces (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates an online enquiry marketplace that connects customers with independent venues such as farmhouses, resorts and event spaces. This policy describes how we handle your personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable Indian law.

1. Who we are

This service is operated by UTSAVPLACES, having its registered address at Navi Mumbai. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at admin@utsavplaces.com.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the marketplace:

Contact details — your mobile number (verified by OTP) and, optionally, your name.
Enquiry details — the location, date, group size, duration, budget preferences and amenities you request.
Activity data — enquiries you post, offers you view, and when you tap through to a venue on WhatsApp.
Technical data — basic device and log information (such as IP address) needed for security and to prevent abuse.
Venue & agent data — if you register as a venue owner or booking agent, we collect your name, business/operating area, contact number and subscription/payment reference details.

3. How we use your data

To verify your mobile number and prevent fraudulent or duplicate enquiries.
To match your enquiry with suitable venues and share the enquiry details (but not your phone number) with those venues.
To let you contact your chosen venue directly on WhatsApp.
To operate subscriptions, quotas and payments for venues and agents.
To understand demand patterns and improve the service.
To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Your phone number is never shown to venues. Venues see your enquiry so they can make an offer, but your number stays private until you choose to contact them yourself on WhatsApp. Protecting your contact details is built into how the platform works.

4. Consent

When you verify your mobile number and post an enquiry, you consent to us processing your data for the purposes above. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us (see “Your rights” below); note that withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide the service to you.

5. Who we share data with

Venues — receive your enquiry details (never your phone number) so they can make an offer.
Service providers — such as our SMS/OTP provider and hosting provider, only to the extent needed to run the service.
Legal authorities — where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Data retention

We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal or accounting requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised — ordinarily one month after your last activity.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to access, correct, update and erase your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of incapacity. To make a request, contact us at admin@utsavplaces.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Cookies & analytics

We may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how the service is used and to improve it.

10. Children

Our service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 without verifiable parental consent, as required by law.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version, and material changes will be notified through the service.
